David Cook rocks A Taste Of Colorado

So, this is my second DC show recap this year. That's pretty exciting. After the last show in January, I hoped I might get to see him again, but I wouldn't be disappointed if that didn't happen. You know how it is..once you've seen him one time, that's not enough. His shows are always magical, and you really can't help having a good time when you're there. Am I right? Yesterday's show was no different.

This was my first time seeing David in an outdoor setting, rather than a theater. The show was also in the middle of the day, which was nice, but different. The crowd was huge, and a lot of people didn't seem to know who David was, so I hope they left that day and bought his albums. :)

The setlist was short, but brilliant as usual. Here it is, for those who missed my live tweeting:

Paper Heart
Heroes/Champagne Supernova
Carry You
Declaration
Eyes On You
Wicked Game
Kiss and Tell
Kiss You Tonight
Come Back To Me
Rock 'n' Roll/ Whole Lotta Love
Light On

The set went by way too fast, as his shows always do. Despite the heat, David was in really good spirits. At the beginning of Paper Heart, his mic wasn't on, so he had to stop playing, and he yells out "Turn my microphone on!", which was pretty funny. He cracked a joke about playing Commodores covers the whole time (they were playing later that evening), which was really funny.

Before he sang Eyes On You, he picked two people from the crowd to have a dance-off on stage, and one of them was actually from his High School. It took them a while to get on stage, so Monty started playing something random on the bass and David cracked up. At the end of the song, we were all supposed to vote for who danced better, and it was a tie, so they got a sweaty group hug from the guys. To say I was jealous is an understatement...lol.
The funniest part of the show, and I can't remember when it happened specifically, was after one of the songs. David did something that sounded kind of like Michael Jackson's signature "ow", you know, the really high pitched thing, and a ton of people did it back. David got such a kick out of that that he did it again, and they did it again. So he turns to Monty and says "Hey Monty, this is fun! You try it!" and Monty goes "my mic isn't on" and it wasn't. but it got turned on, so he tried it and failed, which made David laugh more. Someone had a tattoo, I'm guessing that it was of some of his lyrics, but I couldn't see it. He was really happy to see that.

He also mentioned the new album...he said that he's seen on twitter that we all hate the word "soon", so he wasn't going to use that. The album is not coming out today. That's all we know. XD

I had a really great time...got to see Shantelle and Chris again and meet their adorable girls, take in an awesome rock show, and be surrounded by awesome DC fans, old and new. As always, I can't wait to see him again!
